    Bothwell Medical Rooms Orthopaedics offer rapid assessment, specialist consulting and treatment for patients with musculoskeletal and pain conditions.

    Situated in Bothwell, Lanarkshire, we are perfectly placed to provide a private orthopaedic consulting service to both private clients and those with private medical policies.

    Our team includes Orthopaedic Consultants, pain medicine doctors and physiotherapists from Scotlands leading private hospitals and clinics. Our specialists manage a range of common and complex joint conditions, mobility problems, pain syndromes and sports injuries.

    If required, we use minimally invasive surgery and procedures to speed recovery with full rehabilitation plans post-surgery. Diagnostic tests, can often be carried out within 48 hours if required from our partner hospitals.

    Orthopaedic Referrals

    Making GP referrals

    • GPs can refer patients direct to our Orthopaedics specialists – where we will match a patient with the most appropriate consultant
    • Alternatively, GPs can directly refer patients to a specific named consultant at Bothwell Medical Rooms.
    • Some patients with private medical insurance may need a referral from their GP to gain authorisation from their insurance company.

    Making a physiotherapy referral

    • Bothwell Medical Rooms Orthopaedics accepts referrals directly from physiotherapists to our Consultants
    • A physiotherapist can refer patients – where we will match a patient with the most appropriate specialist
    • Alternatively, physiotherapists can directly refer patients to a specific named consultant.
    • Please be aware that all patients with private medical insurance may need a referral from their GP to gain authorisation from their insurance company.

    Search for a specific specialist

    As a GP, you can also search for a specific orthopaedic specialist at Bothwell Medical Rooms and directly refer your patient to that professional by visiting our ‘Team’ pages.

    Pre-visit checklist

    If you have a medical insurance, you will need to contact your insurer to confirm whether you are covered for your consultation and whether you will need a GP referral. Your insurance company will provide you with an authorization code, which you will be required to provide at the time of registration at the clinic, along with your policy or membership number.

    If you have had previous scans or X-rays related to your condition, please bring these along with bring any other reports and copies of letters from your GP or specialists.

    Your Consultation

    At Bothwell Medical Rooms Orthopaedics, we can provide rapid diagnosis, specialist consulting and initial treatment in one location.

    Upon arrival, we will ask you to fill out a small registration form and confirm your personal details. (Please allow 10 minutes to do this.)

    You will then see your Consultant to discuss your condition, your diagnosis and any tests and treatments that they recommend.

    Please do not hesitate to ask your Consultant any medical questions you may have about your condition.
